These terms cover your use of the Eigenboard app and this website. By creating an account you agree to them.

The service

Eigenboard lets you write notes by hand and converts them into LaTeX documents using AI transcription. Transcription is automatic and can make mistakes. Always check the output before you rely on it; you are responsible for the documents you produce.

Your account

You need an account to use the app. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. One person per account.

Free use and subscriptions

The free tier includes one notebook and a small number of conversions and compiles so you can try the app. Eigenboard Premium removes those limits. It is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store at $44.99 per year or $7.99 per month. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store rules.

Fair use

Eigenboard Premium includes generous conversion and compilation allowances, sized to cover far more than typical note-taking, including heavy use around exams. To keep the service fast for everyone we may set or adjust reasonable limits at our discretion. If usage is clearly excessive or automated (for example bulk or scripted conversion, one account shared between several people, or reselling access), we may slow or pause conversions and, for repeated abuse, close the account, contacting you first where reasonable. Any adjustment never affects notebooks stored on your device. Content that is illegal or that you have no right to use may not be sent through the service.

Your content

Your notes are yours. You give us permission to process them only as far as needed to convert, compile and deliver them back to you. See the privacy policy for what we keep.

Availability

We work to keep the service running but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Conversion depends on third-party AI providers whose behaviour can change. We may update or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost data, or errors in transcribed documents. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms.
